AID keys are further split into PF (Program Function) keys and PA (Program Access) keys. The difference between them is that PF keys allow the transfer of data from terminal to CICS where as PA keys do not.

PF keys wake up the task and transmit modified data, PA keys only wake up the task.

The enter and PF keys transmit data from the screen; the PA keys tell CICS that a terminal action took place, but data is not transmitted.
