Query subject is set of query items, framework manager is used to modify query subjects to optimize and customize data. query subjects are central to a model.

There are there different types of query subjects in framework manager.

Data source query subject- directly reference data in a single data source. Three ways to create data source query subject - i. Metadata wizard ii. New data source query subject wizard iii. Query subject definition dialog (within namespace or folder)

Model query subject- based on query items or dimensions to present a business view after creating relationships between data source query subjects.

Stored procedure query subject- generated when import a procedure from a relational data source. Data modification stored procedure query subjects can only be used by cognos event studio and requires database signon with write permissions
