DB2 allows a maximum of 4096 partitions of a partitioned table space. Actually, the maximum number of partitions in a table space depends on the data set size (DSSIZE parameter) and the page size. Thus the partitions can range from 1 to 4096 depending upon the above parameters (DSSIZE and the page size). Partitions can be range from 1 to 4096.
