DCLGEN:

  • DCLGEN is a declaration generator used to generate DB2 equivalent COBOL variables called Host variables.
  • Which can be used to generate host variables with equivalent data types of DB2 columns.

Contents:

  1. EXEC SQL DECLARE TABLE statement which gives the layout of the table/view in terms of DB2 data types.
  2. A host language copy book that gives the host variable definitions for the column names.
