HADOOP - if i increase replication factor . what will happen ?

if i increase replication factor . what will happen ?

increase of replication factor requires increase in data nodes, it may be good in reading but while writing in HDFS it will slow down namenode performance. overall performance will affect.

Obviously it will increase the replicas but more importantly it will increase network overhead and slowdown the namenode performance.

Number of replicas of data in datanodes will increase, i.e. if replication factor is increased to 10,then data will be stored in 10 datanodes as a replica.
