Transformation is informatica object which is used to read, manupulate and load data. Each transformations perform specific functions. Data pass in and out from the transformation through ports. Ports can be of following type 1. Input only 2. Output only 3. Input & Output 4. Variable. There are two types of transformation namely 1. Active Transformation 2. Passive Transformation. 1.Active Transformation: The no. of input rows to the transformation is not equal to the number of output rows from the transformation. input rows != output rows (Either it can be less or more) List of Active transformation ----------------------------------- Aggregator Source Qualifier Filter Joiner Normalizer Rank Router Sorter Transaction Control Union Update Strategy XML Generator XML Parser XML Source Qualifier 2. Passive Transformation: The no.of input rows is equal to the output rows then it is called passive transformation. List of Passive Transformation ------------------------------------- Expression External procedure Input ( Mapplet transformation) Lookup Output ( Mapplet Transformation) Sequence Generator
