What is the difference between primary and secondary allocations for a dataset?

Primary allocation: This is the primary space required for the dataset. The space allocated when the dataset is first created.

Secondary allocation: This is the additional space required, when the primary space is not being sufficient. Secondary allocation is done when more space is required than what has already been allocated.
