DC = Defects in phase / (Defects in phase + Defects found in Downstream phases)
Defect containment rate at it’s most basic is a fairly simple metric.  It measures the amount of defects which your process detects as a proportion of all defects (those which you do and do not detect).  Typically, it’s defined as test_defects / test_defects + production_defects.
