Developer changed the bug status to "Deferred" when bug is not severe enough, i.e, Low Priority and Low severity Case. In this, developer identifies the defect as a bug and due to other high priority tasks or time/effort measurements, he/she decides the bug to get fixed in Next Release.

Reason for changing the status to Deferred:

1.) No time for fixing the bug
2.) Effort/ Cost Measurement
3.) Bug is not severe
4.) Test Lead assigns him other high severe bugs that needs to be taken care off first
