keep and join do the same functionality but keep creates two tables where as join doesn't . keep should be used beffore the load or select statement.

keep example:

table1: LOAD EmpID, EmployeeName, Region, Name, Deptno FROM [C:\Users\sanvi\Desktop\qlickview\Source\Excel\Employee.xls] (biff, embedded labels, table is Employees$); Keep :

table2: LOAD EmpID, [Last Name], [First Name], Title, [Hire Date], Office, Extension, [Reports To], [Year Salary] FROM [C:\Users\sanvi\Desktop\qlickview\Source\Excel\EmpOff.xls]

(biff, embedded labels, table is Employee$);

join: join doesn't table1: LOAD EmpID, EmployeeName, Region, Name, Deptno FROM [C:\Users\sanvi\Desktop\qlickview\Source\Excel\Employee.xls] (biff, embedded labels, table is Employees$); join:

table2: LOAD EmpID, [Last Name], [First Name], Title, [Hire Date], Office, Extension, [Reports To], [Year Salary] FROM [C:\Users\sanvi\Desktop\qlickview\Source\Excel\EmpOff.xls] (biff, embedded labels, table is Employee$);
