Tableau - scenario : Calculated field.

Lets say we have a dimension called customer name and measure called profit. What is the logic for the condition " If the customer name is "ABC" then sow average of profit"

Drag the customer name in filter field and select wildcard, in the match value type as 'ABC' and select contains option. Goto Top tab in the filter and select field there yon can select whatever calculation you want AVG,SUM,COUNT etc.. you can also create parameters also to show dynamically.

Drag the order date from the dimensions,drop into the rows shelf and Drag the profit from measures,drop into the column shelf and the right click on the profit column shelf and click on the measures change the aggregation to avg profit then it will show in the avg in work sheet
